Mike LaPidus
Mike emailed me with this fantastic collection.
Mike LaPidus is an artist/prototype/prop builder, magician and puzzle bottle maker in the Chicagoland area. His bottles are also visible on his T-shirt site at: http://prestidigitees.com/collections/lapidus-wizards-wandery
Here are some descriptions of his bottles in his own words...
"My Double Trouble Bottles are two puzzles in one bottle ( complete decks in new deck order in it's factory seals and cellos in the bottle with a wooden arrow or spade through the bottle as well ). There are the regular Double Trouble Bottles with the "Believe. Achieve." hangtag and then also the In Case Of Emergency Break Glass Bottles. I've also included some photo's of the Michigan Magic Day bottles I did.
My Gift Wrapped Packs are complete decks in new deck order and in their factory seals and cellos but also gift wrapped with one continuous ribbon and tied in a bow at the top, with the addition of a gift bow placed on the front of the pack.
The Houdini Bottles are specialty Houdini decks in complete new deck order and in their factory seals and cellos, wrapped and suspended upside-down with chains in an antique and unaltered milk bottle. Though difficult to see in the photos, the decks are hanging in the bottle and not touching the bottom. I do two versions of these, one has a large padlock near the bottle opening and one is more the traditional "Houdini suspended upside-down". The corks can't even be lifted out of the bottle because either the upper deck's corners would wedge into the bottle first not allowing it ( in the regular Houdini Bottle ) or the large padlock would do the same in version 2 .
I've also sent a photo of my sealed and unbroken Candy Cane bottle. An idea that occurred to me around Christmas time about 4 years ago and though its not deck in bottle related, it's a fun idea."
